The Melissa Sandford Scholarship

The College is delighted to announce

The Melissa Sandford Scholarship to support Scotland College of Chiropractic (SCC) students.

The scholarship funded by the UCA is set up to recognise Melissa's incredible contribution to the chiropractic profession over three decades. Two scholarships will be available. One in September 2023 and the other in 2024 and will award each recipient £4,625 for each year of their four years of study

Speaking about the launch of the scholarship, Melissa Sandford, Executive Advisor at UCA said:

"Chiropractic and Education are two of my great loves. I am excited for the future of chiropractic in Scotland and honoured to be a part of it."

The United Chiropractic Association has been a significant supporter of SCC and Marc Muncila, President of UCA said:

"Few people have impacted the hearts of a profession in the way Melissa Sandford has done, and it is the UCA’s view, to whom she has given so much of her life, that a lasting legacy is created in her honour. We are thrilled to be able to partner with our close SCC colleagues in this endeavour, and we hope this scholarship stands as a demonstration of the UCA’s commitment to acknowledging exceptional dedication to the profession and contributing to the development of young Chiropractic minds, two qualities Melissa embodies in an abundance."

Ross McDonald, Interim Principal of SCC said:

"On behalf of the Scotland College of Chiropractic, I would like to thank the UCA for honouring the dedication to the chiropractic profession of Melissa Sandford by providing these student scholarships. These scholarships will allow two students to grow and learn through their chiropractic education and will inspire them to become great chiropractors and to give back to the profession as Melissa does.”
