Careers

There has never been a better time to consider a career in chiropractic. There continues to be a great demand for chiropractors in the UK and so graduate employability remains buoyant. On completing the MChiro programme our graduates will be practice-ready: able to make the transition from student to professional practitioner with confidence.

As a graduate in chiropractic, there is a range of opportunities to work in both rural and urban areas, and the ability to work from home if you choose. You are also able to work across multiple practices, for yourself, or for other clinics.

You will need to work within the strict code of conduct and ethics as set out by the General Chiropractic Council. As you grow in experience and business knowledge (the basis of which you will be taught during your time at SCC), there is ample opportunity for you to create a fulfilling, flexible, and financially rewarding future.

Research in post-graduate Chiropractors consistently reports around 99% employment within the first year. This reflects the demand for more Chiropractors in the UK. According to prospects.ac.uk, starting salaries are typically around £30,000 in the UK rising to £50,000 for an experienced associate.

Chiropractic is recognised in most countries as a profession. Once you have completed your chiropractic studies, you will be able to practice in many countries around the world. It is advised you check with the chiropractic association in the country you wish to work in to ensure they accept the MChiro qualification, and any other requirements they may have in place.

Before undertaking this programme of study we would recommend that you talk to as many people as possible including family, friends and, if possible, chiropractors (in your local area) about whether chiropractic might be a good career choice for you. Understanding the role of a chiropractor and where they sit within the wider healthcare setting will help you determine if this is the right career path for you.
