Fees & Funding

Higher education is one of the biggest investments you will ever make and the two main costs you will face as an undergraduate student are tuition fees and living expenses.

Fees

The tuition fee set by the College is £9,250* per year (UK students). It is important to apply for your funding (currently only applies to students who meet the residency criteria in Scotland) as soon as you can and not wait until you have received an offer of a place at SCC.

Fees can be paid in the following ways:

  • The full amount at the start of the academic year

  • Three times per year (September, December, and March)

  • In ten instalments (September to June).

*Fees may be subject to an annual increase

Funding

Please note that students domiciled in Scotland or who meet the residency criteria are eligible to apply for funding via Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS). The College has designated status in Scotland. If you live in England, Wales, or Northern Ireland you should check with your funding body regarding financial assistance, however, you may find that you are responsible for self-funding until the College achieves designated status in the rest of the UK.

If you are not eligible for funding and are a self-financing, or a sponsored student (eg your employer has agreed to pay your fees), you must arrange to pay your fees independently.

Advance Payment Fee

A non-refundable Advance Payment Fee of £250 is required to secure your place on the MChiro programme, payable when you accept your offer. We allow a 14-day cooling-off period from the date that you accept your offer of a place and return your signed ‘Terms and Conditions Acceptance Form’.

During this time you may change your mind about embarking upon the MChiro programme and you may formally withdraw from it without financial penalty. We will reimburse your Advanced Payment Fee within 10 working days if you change your mind during the 14-day cooling-off period.

If you choose to start your studies with us, the Advanced Payment Fee is offset against your tuition fees.

Additional Programme Costs

Over the duration of the programme you will be required to purchase a model spine, a standard diagnostic kit comprising a stethoscope, sphygmomanometer, thermometer, reflex hammer, and pinwheel, measuring tape, pen torch, an examination gown, a face cloth, and an Activator instrument.

Approximate costs per year are:

  • Year 1 £320

  • Year 2 £620

  • Year 3 £550

There will also be some travel costs associated with travel to clinical placements though the majority of these will be in the local Edinburgh area and/or close to the student’s home area.
